As University of Maryland students and staff celebrate graduation weekend, UMPD investigates fatal stabbing which happened on campus. Police say it happened on Regents Dr near Montgomery Hall.
The UMD Police Department is investigating the incident that happened on campus early Saturday morning.
Officers responded to a report of an assault with a knife on Regents Drive near Montgomery Hall at around 3 a.m. where they found a male victim lying on the sidewalk suffering from serious injuries.
The victim was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
According to police, witnesses identified the suspect and he is now in custody with charges pending.
A press conference will be held at UMPD HQ at noon.
