Azealia Banks, on the heels of a series of racist tweets directed at Zayn Malik, has now found her Twitter account suspended.
Banks was nixed from the lineup for Rinse FM’s Born & Bred Festival even though she offered an “apology” to “everyone except the targets of my tirades.”
According to Twitter, accounts may be suspended for “abusive tweets or behavior.” Their website reads: “We may suspend an account if it has been reported to us as violating our Rules surrounding abuse. When an account engages in abusive behavior, like sending threats to others or impersonating other accounts, we may suspend it temporarily or, in some cases, permanently.” h/t pitchfork
It’s not the first time Banks has a issues using Twitter. In April, Sarah Palin threatened to sue her after she posted a series of very graphic tweets about Palin. In March, Banks said she was quitting Twitter altogether, but returned after a brief absence.
