The search for Brody “BJ” Brown, who went missing during an event at Muddy Joe’s campground in Perkinston, MS, has sadly ended with his body being recovered from a pond Wednesday morning.
Don Bass, Chief Deputy with the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department, confirmed the 31-year-old father of two, who had been missing since Saturday night, was indeed discovered dead.
Bass said the pond Brown’s body was found in is the same pond search teams have been tirelessly scouring for days. According to Brown’s wife, he was last seen around 9 p.m. when he told the group he was with he was leaving to go to the restroom. The community and several law enforcement agencies came together to search the area where Brown was last seen. The search area eventually expanded to more than 400 acres. Dozens of ATV riders, rescue dogs and mounted patrols spent day and night searching for Brown. The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department led the search with assistance from the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources Marine Patrol and a rescue team from the Slidell Police Department. h/t wlox
State Sen. Sean Tindell is Brown’s first cousin.
