Heartbreaking: Bat Boy Kaiser Carlile Dies

Kaiser Carlile, the nine-year-old bat boy who was fighting for his life after accidentally being hit in the head by a bat, has died.

Carlile, who volunteered for the Kansas team, the Liberal Bee Jays, was injured during a warm up swing at a National Baseball Congress World Series game.

He was rushed to a hospital in Wichita, where he underwent emergency treatment and was placed in intensive care. But now, more than 24 hours on, the youngster has succumbed to his injuries ‘With the permission of the family, and with much sorrow and a very broken heart, I regretfully inform everyone that Kaiser Carlile passed away earlier this evening,’ the amateur Bee Jays told CNN in a statement on Sunday night. ‘Please keep his family and our team in your thoughts and prayers.’ h/t dailymail

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Carlile’s family at this very difficult time.
