Not Caitlyn Jenner, but Laverne Cox, from Orange Is The New Black, is to become Madame Tussauds first ever trans wax figure.
Cox commented on the waxy honor,
“When I think about being who I am, a black trans woman from a working class background raised in Mobile, Alabama, this honor feels even more improbable and extraordinary,” said Cox in a statement. “I hope that this will be a source of inspiration for every one who encounters it to believe that their dreams matter and are possible.”
Cox made another first as the first trans to appear on the cover of Time Magazine. The unveiling of her figure coincides with LGBT Pride month.
