Soccer great, Pele, has been admitted into intensive care in Sao Paulo.
He was visiting the hospital over a urinary infection after a bout with kidney stones.
Pele, 74, has been put in ICU at the Albert Einstein Hospital after his health worsened. In a statement, the hospital said: “Edson Arantes do Nascimento (Pele) remains in hospital.
“To receive the best care he was transferred in order to be monitored in a special care unit.” Jose Fornos Rodrigues, the former player’s personal aide, said Pele was “completely fine” and the move was mainly to protect his privacy. “He was uncomfortable with so many people coming. It’ll be quieter now,” Rodrigues said. h/t foxsports
It comes after the former Santos striker had surgery for kidney stones on November 13 before being released two days later.
