Kevin Roper, the Georgia truck driver charged in the accident that critically injured comedian Tracy Morgan and killed James McNair, had not slept in over 24 hours, according to officials..
Roper failed to see traffic slowing in front of him on the turnpike near Cranbury Township, slamming the limo bus carrying Morgan and several other comics and friends after a performance in Delaware, police said.
Roper was operating a truck “on the New Jersey Turnpike without having slept in excess of 24 hours,” according to the complaint filed in Middlesex County Court.
The driver was due to appear in court on Wednesday to face a charge of vehicular homicide and three counts of assault by auto, court documents show. source
