Rodger masterfully downplayed his problems and deadly intentions, and the deputies cleared the call, but many are left wondering why the report described the killer as if he was being recommended for the medal of honor.
Rodger would later recount the episode in his daunting manifesto.
“I had the striking and devastating fear that someone had somehow discovered what I was planning to do, and reported me for it,” he wrote.
