A 19-year-old track and star at University of Pennsylvania died after she jumped from a parking garage in Philadelphia, police said.
“The entire Penn community is deeply saddened by the death of Madison Holleran. She was bright and well-liked with an incredible future ahead of her,” Amy Gutmann, the school’s president, said in a statement issued to the campus, according to the Daily Pennsylvanian.
“There are simply no words that can properly convey the sense of heartache that we all feel at such a tragic loss.”
The tragic death of the teen — who won numerous athletic awards as a student at Northern Highlands Regional High School in New Jersey — left her friends and family stunned.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Madison’s family and friends at this difficult time.
