Never before in the history of the Ultimate Fighting Championship are there women fighters headlining the fight card as well as fight inside the octagon. Ronda “Rowdy” Rousey makes her UFC 157 debut on February 23, 2013 at the Honda Center, Anaheim, CA, against  Liz Carmouche.

Dana White, the president of the UFC says, “no fighter has ever fought in the UFC that has had more attention than she has.” Even Rousey is saying, “I didn’t think it would be this big, it’s a little bit surprising.” The big commotion around Rousey is that she is a 2008 Olympic bronze medalist in judo and she has won every single one of her professionals fights by her signature gruesome armbars. When I saw her fight against then champion of Strikeforce, Miesha Tate, I couldn’t watch. I was screaming like a girl (well because I am a girl) at the television, yelling at Tate to tap! I was literally watching someone’s arm get popped and broken by Rousey. I was cringing and squirming. You can catch the fight here:

The fight was awesome!!! Really exciting and action-packed. I would even say better then some of the boys fights. I find Rousey very attractive, tough, and she has the goods and skills to take the UFC to a realm they’ve never before entered. I am so looking forward to Saturday night’s fight! We will see if Rousey can successfully defend her bantum weight championship belt and her first win in the UFC! Who thinks in this fight Rousey will sink in her signature armbar and win or are we over-looking Carmouche and not giving her a chance? Let me know what you think and don’t miss herstory-in-the-making.
