“We deeply regret the necessity of today’s decision, but we do not have the financial resources to weather an extended nationwide strike,” said Hostess CEO Gregory Rayburn in a statement.

The Hostess closing means not only will the Twinkie disappear but also 18,500 jobs will also be lost as the company will close its 33 bakeries in 556 different locations nationwide as well as 570 outlet stores…
