Two Hamburger Chains That Never Pink Slimed You

Anger is mounting as more and more folks learn their favorite burger joint had been secretly feeding them pink slime, but two major burger slingers are bragging that they never touched the stuff.

In-N-Out Burger and Wendy’s are happily announcing that they never bought into pink slime — that awful ammonia-treated beef filler product that the meat industry monikered “finely textured beef” and touted as “safe” for human consumption, but sadly, McDonald’s, Burger King, Jack in the Box, Wal-Mart and many others got caught red-handedly adding the nasty filler ingredients.

It took mega-pressure from ginny pigs consumers before restaurants and retailers either stopped using the filler or reduced its use.

Wendy’s proudly placed an ad in USA Today, the Chicago Tribune and other newspapers — reading: “Where’s The Pure Beef? At Wendy’s, that’s where!” Wendy’s spokesman Bob Bertini, “We have never used lean finely textured beef (pink slime) because it doesn’t meet our high quality standards.”

In-N-Out Burger took to social media king Facebook to ease customer fears:

“In-N-Out Burger: Hi Josh! In response to your question, our meat does not and has never contained “pink slime.” We actually process all of our beef in our own meat processing facilities. Our butchers then de-bone, grind, and patty the 100% pure American beef we receive to ensure that our exceptionally high quality standards are consistently met.
