The film “The Hunger Games”, opened in theaters around the world this weekend, raking in a total of $155 million.
LA Times reports that “The Hunger Games” is “Lionsgate’s highest-grossing film ever and is poised to ultimately deliver more than $300 million in profits to the company’s bottom line from ticket sales, DVDs, television and licensed products, several analysts predicted Sunday. With three sequels to come, the series should ultimately produce more than $1 billion in profits.”
“Catching Fire”, which will be The Hunger Games sequel, is expected to be released in theaters November 2013.
