The Academy Awards are this coming weekend so this is just a reminder that all lanes of Hollywood Boulevard between Highland and Orange avenues have already been closed. In what’s called a “hard closure” expect these streets to remain closed until 8 a.m. on the Tuesday after the Oscars.
Oscar officials have completely closed sidewalks directly in front of the Kodak Theatre and across the street as soon all of Hollywood Blvd will be covered in the ceremonial red carpet and bleachers.
Metro bus service along Hollywood Boulevard will be detoured until after the awards.
On show day the Red Line trains will NOT stop at the Hollywood-Highland station.
Don’t forget to watch the Oscars Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012!
