CHICAGO — Homeland Security is investigating the failure of a water pump as possible cyber attack.
Security expert Joe Weiss wrote on his blog citing a state government report, titled “Public Water District Cyber Intrusion,” in which
Workers in the state capital noted “glitches” for several weeks. The pump eventually burned out.
He also said that a computer repair company discovered the hacking. Homeland Security says the cause of the failure is still unknown.
