Snooki on Tan Tax, Obama Doesn’t Need A Tan

You’ve got to hand it to Jersey Shore’s Snooki for speaking her mind! The umpa lumpa of reality stars said on a recent episode of Jersey Shore, “I don’t go tanning anymore because Obama put a 10% tax on tanning. McCain would never put a 10% tax on tanning. Because he’s pale and would probably want to be tan, Obama doesn’t have that problem. Obviously.”

So in other words, Obama’s black and mandated a special tax on tanning salons because he doesn’t need a tan… Continue reading

Movie Being Written About Tom Cruise’s Character from “Tropic Thunder”

Tom Cruise as Les Grossman

Have you ever seen the movie “Tropic Thunder”? If not, maybe you saw Tom Cruise on the MTV Awards this year, dressed like a half-bald, overweight a-hole producer type of guy. If you saw both like me, then you know all about Tom Cruise dressing in a fat suit, and dancing like a rich and old fat white guy.

Apparently either Cruise is so into this character he plays sometimes, “Les Grossman”, or he thinks everyone else in the world is so into the character, that Les Grossman is getting his own movie! That’s right, Ben Stiller, Stuart Cornfield, Michael Bacall and Cruise himself, are all pulling the production strings together to make the movie. Paramount Pictures and MTV are also on board to fund and house the production.

Ben Stiller says that the Les Grossman movie will be about “Les Grossman’s life story” and it is “an inspiring tale of the classic human struggle to achieve greatness against all odds.” Stiller then finishes, “and I am honored to be working with him [Cruise].”

EXCLUSIVE: Michael Jackson Movie Supplier Claims Extortion

It’s a fact, Michael Jackson paid huge sums of money to stock his vast movie collection with scores of Nazi themed flicks and the two people Jackson employed to find him those movies are speaking out for the first time.

norman solo 150x200 EXCLUSIVE: Michael Jackson Movie Supplier Claims Extortion

We talked exclusively with Norman Scherer, who was Jackson’s personal movie dealer back in the 1990s. Scherer’s take on why Jackson ordered movies glorifying Hitler is vastly different than details given to the NY Post by Scott Shaffer, Jackson’s former personal assistant.

“I couldn’t believe just how turned around the story was in the press. Sites are saying that I said Michael was obsessed with Nazis” said Scherer, “He did get Nazi-based films from me, but I don’t think he watched them for twisted reasons, he was fascinated with the way the military moved, and they were research for his dancing.”

Scherer owned “Video Oyster” in the 1990s, a video vault of rare movies and TV shows from around the globe. His office, located on Wall Street, sold rare finds to college kids, Wall Street stock brokers and everyone in between including countless celebrities, like Richard Gere, Naomi Campbell, Keith Richards, Ted Turner and Barbara Streisand, to name a few.

Scott Shaffer heard about Scherer’s thriving video business through the grape vine of entertainers in NYC, and first called him in November of 1995.  Shaffer told Scherer that he had a big client for him, and that customer was Michael Jackson. Shaffer sent over a list of movies and TV shows to Scherer, and he began providing Jackson with boxes and boxes of VHS movies. Sometimes Scherer would hand deliver the videos to the Four Seasons Hotel in NYC, where Jackson lived for many months.

Scherer’s first check from Jackson was for a cool $21,725.00, and it was drawn from the account of “Neverland Valley Ranch.” “The checks kept coming in and I kept shipping Jackson boxes of movies for months.” Scherer said. There was one list of what Michael wanted in the beginning, “Nazi-based movies”, “Disney movies”, “troubled male youth movies”, “Judy Garland movies” and “vintage TV game shows.” After a while, Scherer started to get the hang of picking movies that he knew Jackson would like.

Scherer recalls Shaffer telling him, “Michael likes you because you know what he likes – you think like him.” Because Scherer hand picked the films for Jackson, be began to get an intimate understanding of his viewing habits.

Nazi war stories were not the only thing Michael liked to watch, Scherer recounts, “He liked to buy old TV shows-old game shows, he liked old TV because it was easier times and less complicated. He bought Judy Garland movies because they make you smile” Scherer continued, “He liked the videos about young boys with troubled families-because he wanted to relate to what his youth was like-he found a connection in there.” In an effort to set the record straight, Scherer maintained, “Michael created his own world… I don’t think any of that was a sexual thing. He genuinely loved children and loved living vicariously through them. I mean he loved Peter Pan!”

Now here’s where the story took a bad turn that plays out more like a scene from the movie “Blow”, than a simple sales transaction. “I never met Michael, He didn’t want to ever come to my office because it smelled like pot, and Michael didn’t like pot.” Sherer admitting as to the reason he never actually met Jackson in person.

At one point Scherer was literally traveling around the U.S. to get films just for Michael, “70% of my business was from Michael.” said Scherer.

According to Scherer, Shaffer called him out of the blue in March of 96′ and demanded to receve a 10% cash cut from of all future checks from MJJ Productions/Neverland Valley Ranch, and for all subsequent orders of videos. Scherer felt like he was being extorted, and he also thought that Jackson most likely did not know Shaffer was requesting a cut, but he knew he would lose the account if he did not agree. “Scott tried to extort me and he said he’d drop the account if I didn’t give him 10% cash from each order, and Michael obviously didn’t know about it.” Said Scherer. “So I told him to come in Video Oyster, and I would give him the money.” Then Scherer took matters in to his own hands, “Scott came in my office, and I told him, ‘Okay, you can only have the 10% if you dance like Michael’, and Scott started to dance – so I handed him the money.”

What Shaffer probably does not know is that Scherer video-taped the whole thing. Scherer admitted that the tape of Scott trying to dance like Michael was funny, however, he did not intend on releasing the 15-year-old tape of Shaffer dancing on command, deeming it “humiliating.” The business relationship between the two would never recover, “Soon after, I gathered up some movies I thought Michael would like, dropped them off at the Four Seasons concierge, and it was over.” Said Scherer.

The business relationship had ended, and they went their separate ways…15 years later, the two are reunited by this story…

The NY Post, who broke the story of Jackson’s so called “Nazi obsession” spoke with Scott Shaffer who stated, “the reason for ending business with Scherer was because his video prices became too high”, but Scherer insists they ended business because Shaffer “killed the vibe” after he tried to extort him.

Scherer has no regrets.

When asked, “What would you say to Shaffer if the two of you were to meet face to face?” Scherer said, “Thanks for the memories. Thanks for turning me on to a beautiful person [Michael]. I loved his work and I loved his mind. Some of the things he did may look bad, but they weren’t. Kids are fun, kids are better than people that MJ had a deal with. I appreciated meeting Scotty and doing business, and was able to interact with Michael through him. It was an amazing experience.”

EXCLUSIVE: Lady Gaga Makes Triumphant Return to Texas Gay Western Bar that Helped Make Her Famous

“Don’t forget about me when you’re famous! is the saying that came to mind when I found out that Lady Gaga revisited a popular Texas gay western bar that gave her a chance, and took a leap-of-faith on Gaga, before she became a  world-famous icon.

Lady Gaga with Cowboys

Over the weekend, Lady Gaga gave The Round-Up Saloon a surprise visit after her Friday show at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.

Before Lady Gaga showed up to the bar, the owners Alan Pierce and Gary Miller had no idea that Lady Gaga was going to actually visit the bar. I spoke with Alan Pierce, and he said that Gaga did mention Round-Up while she was talking to the audience at both of her shows-Thursday night and Friday night. Alan said that Gaga told the crowd one night that she had written a song with Round-Up in mind, then, she dedicated her song “Boys, Boys, Boys” to Round-Up. Alan also said that he and the boys at Round-Up had a bouquet of flowers sent to Gaga’s hotel, and not to her dressing room at the concert venue, because there was a “no gifts and no flowers” policy at the venue. Maybe Gaga gave Round-Up a couple of shout-outs at her shows not only because they gave her a chance at performing her act at their bar before her world fame, but also because the Round-up guys sent her a charming bouquet of flowers! How sweet!

A great looking trio!

Back in Summer 2008, The Round-Up Saloon got a call from Lady Gaga’s manager and said Gaga was in town, and he wanted to book her at the saloon for a gig. Her manager said she was going to be the next “Madonna”. Alan said that the bar didn’t normally book Gaga type of acts, but they decided to let her perform 2 songs at the bar. “At that time, Lady just ordered water to drink. This time she came in (2 yrs. later), she told me “I’m here to party”” said Alan.

I then told Alan that I just had to know how this all went down. How she arrived-who she was with-what she said!???…

At 11:00 pm on Friday night, Alan said that he, his partner Gary and the Round-Up manager Bob Pritchard, were all standing at the entrance when a security guard guy came up and asked them if they had any tables open. Alan and the boys told the man that Round-Up didn’t have tables-it’s a regular stand up bar. They asked the man who he was asking for, and the man showed them his Lady Gaga tour badge. The man said to keep quiet about her! Alan and the boys decided that their “loft” area would be the best place for Gaga to hangout. The security man, who is one of Gaga’s bodyguards, then went to fetch Gaga.

Gaga receives a nice belt buckle!

Gaga arrived around 11:30 pm that night. She came in a limo, and was escorted by 2 policeman. Alan said they let her in the bar through the back office, which “was her dressing room in 2008”, and she trailed in with an entourage of about 15 people, including her Mother.

Lady Gaga and her people went up to the loft, and ordered drinks. They hung out over the balcony and watched all of the people crowd in. The bar holds 850 capacity and  there were more people than that who wanted to come in when they heard word of who was there!

At first, Lady Gaga said that she didn’t want a microphone, but soon after she did want one! She told the crowd that she “wanted to go to the Round-Up herself, not because they asked her to come”. Soon after, a wild female fan scaled the wall up to Gaga’s loft, and asked for an autograph on her arm. Gaga didn’t mind, and signed her arm.

After 45 minutes of hanging out and 2 “Jamesons and water” later for Gaga, the group then made their way downstairs, and towards the back office. Alan said that he and the Round-Up boys presented her with an official “30 years of business” belt buckle. She modeled the buckle and they took pictures of her. She promised that she would wear it sometime. She took tons of photos with the staff and Alan kept telling me that “Gaga was so nice”. Alan also said that she is “as nice and wonderful now, as she was before she became a big star”.

I guess Lady Gaga didn’t forget about them when she got famous! Yee-ha!

Our beloved world-famous skateboard star, Tony Hawk, had a skating accident this weekend at “Action Sports Weekend”, an event at Downtown Disney’s Main Plaza in Anaheim, CA.

Tony was giving the crowd a demonstration on how to land a “540″ and failed. Tony had to be taken to the UC Irvine Trauma Center, and Tony’s blog said that Tony’s diagnosis was a “sheared pelvis and severe hematoma”.

Kings of Leon Flees Stage Attacked by Pigeons

When the Kings of Leon hit the stage in St. Louis, Missouri I’m sure getting attacked by pigeons was the farthest thing from their minds, however, as soon as hundreds of the dirty birds started craping on them, the band had enough and left the stage after three song.

The Verizon Amphitheater apparently has a problem with pigeon infestation, so much so, the Kings could not continue to play.

The band reportedly observed something falling from the sky, that was pigeon crap, and when the birds started scoring direct hits on the band’s faces, the lads called it quits.
