Priscilla Presley sang “Happy Birthday” along with hundreds of other die hard Elvis fans on Graceland’s front lawn. Priscilla told the crowd that two horses – Max and Bandit – will now be housed on the property. Fans were treated to cake that was distributed at the Graceland gift shop.
Priscilla was 14 years old when Elvis set eyes on her. He was a decade older. Priscilla and Elvis were married in 1967 in Las Vegas at the Aladdin Hotel. They had a daughter Lisa Marie, who was born exactly nine months later in 1968. Elvis and Priscilla separated in 1972 and finally divorced in 1973.
Elvis expired in 1977 at age 42 at Graceland.

Meanwhile, we sat down in a booth and continued our radio show on BlogTalkRadio. We ordered some complimentary all-you-can-eat food on the house! Thank you guys! Ray Manzarek had a little break so we went in for the photo opp! Ray Manzarek is super welcoming and very nice! Soon after, it was time to cut the cake.
Robby and Ray, standing together cutting Jim’s Birthday cake! Wow! Flash bulb frenzy! They cut the cake and began singing “Happy Birthday to Jim”. Jim’s vibe was strong and present. Jim actually used to sit in the booth where the cake was placed. That exact spot was Jim’s favorite.

This year, the momentous occasion will be marked at Barney’s Beanery, the legendary West Hollywood hangout on Route 66, which served as a stomping ground and home away from home for the rock icon. Since moving to its current Santa Monica Blvd. location in 1927 from Berkeley, the historic venue has hosted a variety of counter cultural legends over the years from the worlds of avant-garde art, movies, literature and rock and roll.
