Iris Rodriguez, the little girl who was shot in the head while walking down a San Antonio street with her mother, has died, family members said on Thursday.
Rodriguez, 7, was shot following a disturbance on the city’s West Side, she later died at University Hospital, where she was on a life-support machine.
Iris and her mother were walking around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday in the 5500 block of San Fernando Street when a vehicle involved in some type of disturbance pulled up to them and opened fire, police said. Continue reading
New surveillance video from The Standard shows a suspect wanted in connection with a weekend shooting at posh Downtown Los Angeles hotel.
The shooting left one person dead and three others wounded.

Hotel of the elite, The Standard, in downtown Los Angeles, was the scene of a shooting that left one dead and three injured.
Authorities say, four people were shot, one fatally, early Sunday morning at a spot normally where the rich play and stay. As of now, no one is in custody, but police hope security video and witness statements will help in identifying the suspect or suspects.
The shooting took place about 2:40 a.m. at the upscale hotel in the 500 block of South Flower Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Police initially said three people were shot. Two of the victims were found at the scene; a third victim was located at the nearby intersection of West Olympic Boulevard and South Hill Street, a spokesman for the LAPD’s Central Division said. h/t ktla
No one was in custody in connection with the incident. A description of the shooter or shooters was not immediately available.

While Lamar Odom may have made a miraculous recovery in some respects, his kidneys are now failing and may require a transplant, according to new information.
Sources close to the situation say that despite the fact Odom’s medical condition has vastly improved since overdosing in a Nevada house of ill repute, his kidneys are not improving and a transplant may be in order.
Lamar is at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A., and we’re told he will undergo 6 hours of dialysis a day, but the end game may well be a transplant. Continue reading
Jimmy Greenspoon, the Three Dog Night singer who can be heard on the band’s biggest hit, “Joy To The World,” died Wednesday of cancer. He was 67.
Also the band’s keyboardist, Greenspoon formed the band in 1968 along with Danny Hutton, Cory wells, Chuck Negron, Joe Schermie, Mike Allsup and Floyd Sneed.

Ben Woolf, the actor best known for his work on “American Horror Story: Freak Show,” was involved in a freak accident in Hollywood.
Woolf remains in critical condition on Saturday after being hit in the head while walking on Hollywood Boulevard by a passing vehicle’s side mirror.

The next of kin have been informed over a Texas bus accident that took the lives of two Correctional Officers and 8 prisoners. Several others were transported to area hospitals in serious or critical condition. The vehicle was traveling from the Middleton Unit in Abilene to the Sanchez Unit in El Paso.

Brittany Weatherbee, 19, of Redding, Ca., is being sought by police after allegedly shooting her own father and then fleeing the scene in a blue 2002 Ford Explorer.
Weatherbee is currently wanted for attempted murder and should be considered armed and dangerous.
Redding Police say they responded Saturday night to a residence at around 11:25 p.m. and found Michael Mattson 35, of Shasta Lake City, lying on the ground with a single gunshot wound to his upper torso. Continue reading
