Brooklyn MD Firefighter Brent Hahn Killed In Manchester MD Single-Vehicle Crash Sunday

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD. (THECOUNT) — Anne Arundel County firefighter Brent Hahn has been identified as the victim killed Sunday in a single-vehicle crash in Carroll County, Maryland, according to reports.

Hahn, 24, was killed in a pickup truck crash confirmed the Anne Arundel County Fire Department on Monday morning.

According to the State police in Westminster, Hahn was operating a pickup truck around 4:20 a.m. Sunday on Route 27 near Sullivan Road, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway. The pickup then made contact with a tree before coming to a rest.

Hahn was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.

Hahn, who was a three-year veteran of the department, was assigned to Station 31 in Brooklyn, Maryland.

He was also a volunteer firefighter with the Manchester Volunteer Fire Department.

“It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that the Anne Arundel County Fire Department announces the passing of Firefighter II Brent Hahn of Company 31 “D” Shift. Firefighter Hahn was killed early this morning in a motor vehicle collision while off duty,” Lt. Michael Mayo said.

“Chief Trisha Wolford and Assistant Chief Lawrence Schultz have been to station 31 and are in communication with the members at station 31. This is a difficult time for the Department and the family of FF Hahn. We will continue to provide updates as we receive additional information.”

“Brent was a major asset to our department and community, a dedicated volunteer who always put forth the most effort,” the Manchester Volunteer Fire Department posted on its Facebook page, reports WBAL.

Roads were wet at the time of the crash from the early morning rain.

The accident remains under investigation.

State Police ask anyone with information about the crash to call the Westminster Barrack at 410-386-3000.

Police say they are seeking a suspect, described only as a tall black male, who they say stole a FedEx truck at gunpoint Monday morning, leaving the driver on the side of the road.

It is unclear if the driver was injured in the incident which occurred in the 6000 block of Grenfell Place near Pope’s Creek Park in Bowie around 10:30 a.m. Monday.

The truck has a Maryland license plate reading 8CW3536 and is a 2014 Chevy box truck with FedEx markings, reports Fox5DC.

MD Man Tom Blanton Jr ID’d As Body Found In Upperco Field Monday

UPPERCO, MD. (THECOUNT) — Thomas Blanton Jr., has been identified as the body discovered in a field in Upperco, Maryland on Monday, according to Tuesday reports.

“Tom” Blanton, 36, was identified by Baltimore County police on Tuesday as the man found dead in a field in Upperco on Monday.

A cause of death was not provided by officials as of Tuesday morning.

Detectives from Baltimore County Police homicide unit are still investigating the circumstances around the death and are waiting for autopsy results by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, reports Baltimore.CBS.

Lawrence Sakkestad Disturbing FB Page Charged In Jennifer Sparks Germantown Monday Murder

GERMANTOWN, MD. (THECOUNT) — Lawrence Sakkestad has been identified as the Rockville, Maryland man in custody over the murder of 39-year-old Jennifer Sparks on Monday, according to Thursday reports.

Montgomery County police have identified Sparks on Monday after she was found dead in a Germantown home Monday evening. Officials say Sparks was located deceased inside Sakkestad’s Dunstable Circle home.

Sparks was pronounced dead in the 20000 block of Dunstable Circle in Germantown, MD.

Authorities say they found her body at the home of Lawrence Edward Sakkestad. They were initially called to the residence to investigate a possible assault involving Sparks.

According to police, Sakkestad, 34, admitted that he was involved in Sparks’ murder after officers discovered her body.

A Facebook belonging to “Lawrence Sakkestad” shows several images identifying himself as “Bubblegum.” Some of the photos depicted what appears to be a collage of images of women and words cut out of magazines.

Police have not disclosed the circumstances surrounding Sparks’ death or the relationship she may have had Sakkestad, reports Patch.

Officials say the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore will conduct an autopsy to determine her cause of death.

Sakkestad has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder, court records show. No bond information is available at this time.

Sakkestad is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 4.

SUV Smashes Into Baltimore Mall Kids Clothing Store In ‘Burglary’ Say Police

Baltimore Police are investigating a burglary after an SUV smashed into a Liberty Heights Mondawmin Mall storefront overnight.

According to officials, a white SUV crashed into the storefront of America’s Kids clothing store just before 3 a.m. and removed an unknown number of items from the store before fleeing the scene in the same SUV, reports FoxBaltimore on Monday.

Police are are in the process of assessing damages.

BALTIMORE, MD. (THECOUNT) — Baltimore Police Sergeant Isaac Carrington shared an uplifting update to the people of Baltimore on Sunday evening from University of Maryland Shock Trauma.

“I love ya’ll,” He said. “I’m 10-8. I’ll be back.”

The 10-8 code is used by Baltimore police to let dispatchers they are “In Service.”

MD Man Lincoln Carroll ID’d As Victim Killed Wednesday While Laying On Clinton Roadway

CLINTON, MD. (THECOUNT) — Lincoln Maurice Carroll has been identified as the victim killed after being struck by a tractor-trailer Wednesday night in Prince George County.

Authorities say Carroll, 58, died after being run over by a semi-trailer overnight in Clinton, Maryland overnight after 11 p.m Wednesday.

The fatal incident occurred on Branch Avenue near Surratts Road in the Clinton area.

The driver of the tractor trailer told police that Carroll was lying in the roadway and suddenly stood up in front of the truck before being struck.

Carroll was pronounced dead at the scene of massive blunt force trauma injuries.

No charges are expected against the driver who remained on-scene and fully cooperated with police,

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, say authorities.

The incident is still under investigation.

BALTIMORE, MD. (THECOUNT) — Four fans attending the Baltimore Orioles game at Camden Yards got the boot after unfurling a banner supporting President Donald Trump’s reelection in 2020.

Police and park officials escorted the group out of the stadium after hanging a red, white and blue banner with the words “Keep America Great!” and “Trump 2020″ during the eighth inning at Camden Yards.

The paper reports the banner remained up for less than 10 minutes as other fans shouted “take it down!” reports BaltimoreCBS.

Camden Yards’ policy says no banners can be hung in the stadium to keep from obstructing views, and that banners can be confiscated if their message is commercial, political or “in bad taste.”
