Northern Ireland Cancels All Prince Andrew Appearances ‘Risked Tainting Events’

LONDON, UK. (THECOUNT) — All engagements of Prince Andrew in Northern Ireland have been abruptly canceled after organisers told him fallout from the Jeffrey Epstein scandal risked “tainting the events,” according to reports Tuesday.

The Duke of York’s upcoming appointments in Northern Ireland have been called off amid media scrutiny surrounding his links to the disgraced financier.

Organisers withdrew invitations to the prince, with one worrying his attendance would ‘change the narrative’ about the event in question, reports DailyNews on Tuesday.

A ceremony at Portrush railway station to mark its over $6 million upgrade are among the engagements to be scrapped.

Andrew, 59, who recently moved to distance himself from his longtime friend Epstein, met the billionaire through his former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell.

A video, taken in 2010, shows Andrew waving goodbye to a young woman from inside the front door of Epstein’s New York mansion – the same place prosecutors say they found a trove of nude pictures of young women and possibly underage girls, reports WPBF.

This royal visit was after Epstein was convicted and sentenced to jail for paying underage girls for sex at his Palm Beach home.

The Duke of York, aka, the second son of Queen Elizabeth, was spotted inside Jeffrey Epstein‘s New York mansion delivering a curiously cheerful cheerio to what appears to be a young female in 2010.

In response, Buckingham Palace hastily put out this statement:

“The Duke of York has been appalled by the recent reports of Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged crimes. His Royal Highness deplores the exploitation of any human being and the suggestion he would condone, participate in or encourage any such behaviour is abhorrent.”

One of Epstein’s accusers, Virginia Giuffre — seen in a widely distributed photo with the prince, reportedly at Maxwell’s London home — claims in a lawsuit Epstein forced her at age 17 to have sex with Prince Andrew three times in three different locations, including Epstein’s private island in the Virgin Islands. FBI agents raided the island days after Epstein apparently committed suicide in jail.

In recently released court documents, another woman claims Prince Andrew placed his hands on her breast while posing for a picture with Giuffre, at Epstein’s $70 million New York mansion where the controversial video was shot from the street.

DirecTV to CANCEL FX Sons Of Anarchy

Just when I thought my choice to go with DirecTV for all my TV viewing pleasure was the correct one I catch wind of a behind the scenes struggle over (you guessed it) money that just may result in many of Fox’s channels to be removed from the DirecTV lineup.

Apparently, Money hungry News Corp, you know the guy that bought Myspace, has demanded a huge pay increase from equally cheap DirecTV in order to keep broadcasting FX Network and other Fox sports channels. Estimates put the increase at over 40% per viewer, per year to keep the FX lights on DTV.

If the media giants don’t come to a compromise by November 1st, 2011, FX will go dark, at least for all of us who trusted DirecTV with our entertainment budget and many of us Sons Of Anarchy fanatics will be left with the option of going and watching SOA in all it’s non-HD glory on stinky cable, or you could defect to DTV rival, Dish Network, or watch through the TV store window or there is always taking up a nice hobby, like needle point.

So if fly fishing lessons are out of the question for the moment and you really just want your SOA without the big business drama your options are limited, that is IF you already subscribe to DTV, as it is in my case, you too may have to just wait it out and watch the SOA replay on the internet.
