FRANKLIN COUNTY, GA. (THECOUNT) — Isaac McCraw, 19, of Demorest, Georgia, has been identified as one of two drivers killed Friday night in a head-on crash on Georgia Highway 17 in Franklin County. The driver of the Ford Escape has not been publicly identified. The Mazda’s passenger, Noel Adrian Hutchings, 18, of Cleveland, Georgia, was seriously injured.
The fatal collision occurred around 11:45 p.m. near Old Highway 17, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Troopers said a green 2013 Ford Escape was traveling south in the northbound lanes of Highway 17 when it collided head-on with a red 2021 Mazda 3 traveling north in the left lane.
The Ford Escape caught fire after the impact, according to the preliminary investigation.
McCraw and the unidentified driver were pronounced dead at the scene. Hutchings, the Mazda’s passenger, was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville for treatment of serious injuries.
Georgia State Patrol officials said the Ford Escape driver’s identity was being withheld at the time of the latest report. Next of kin had been notified, and the investigation remained ongoing.
Franklin County is in northeastern Georgia, near the South Carolina state line and the communities of Hartwell and Lavonia.
