ATLANTA, GA. (THECOUNT) — Amber Eggers, who gained recognition after appearing on WE reality series “Love After Lockup,” has died at age 41 after being hospitalized in Atlanta, Georgia, according to reports.
Eggers died Thursday night at an Atlanta-area hospital after being admitted several days earlier when she began feeling unwell, her mother, Monica Eggers, told TMZ. Monica said doctors were unable to keep her daughter’s heart beating and that Amber ultimately died from acute liver failure.

The 41-year-old became known to reality television viewers after appearing on Season 2 of “Love After Lockup,” which aired in 2019. The WE tv series follows relationships involving incarcerated individuals and their partners on the outside.
During her time on the show, Amber was involved with Vincent Gonzalez, whom she was dating while incarcerated. The pair became engaged during their relationship, but their engagement and relationship ultimately ended after Amber was released from prison.
Eggers remained connected to the “Love After Lockup” franchise after her initial appearance. She and former cellmate Michelle “Puppy” Deaton later appeared in cameo roles during other seasons of the franchise, including the spinoff “Life After Lockup.”
Amber and Puppy’s friendship and history as former cellmates made them familiar faces to viewers beyond their original appearances. Their continued involvement with the franchise allowed Eggers to remain part of the television series’ broader cast of returning personalities.
Eggers’ death follows several serious health-related episodes reported in connection with her life in recent years. Earlier reports said she experienced severe illness in 2025, including pneumonia that progressed to sepsis and multiple organ failure and required life support. More recently, reports indicated she had suffered a mini-stroke.
Those earlier medical episodes were separate from the acute liver failure that her mother identified as the cause of Eggers’ death following her latest hospitalization.
TMZ reported that Eggers had been admitted to the hospital several days before her death after she was not feeling well. Her condition subsequently deteriorated, and doctors were unable to keep her heart beating, according to her mother.
The circumstances surrounding Eggers’ hospitalization and death have been reported by TMZ through her family. No additional details regarding the underlying cause of her acute liver failure were provided in the initial report.
Eggers’ television appearances brought her national recognition through the “Love After Lockup” franchise, which has remained a prominent WE tv reality series since its debut.
