MORGAN COUNTY, UT. (THECOUNT) — Jimmy Grundie, of Ogden, Utah, has been identified as the victim killed in a fiery semi-tractor crash in Morgan County Monday night, according to Tuesday reports.

Grundie, 59, may have suffered a medical episode before losing control of his big rig while traveling on Interstate 84 in Morgan County around 11:30 p.m.

Reports say, Grundie was operating a semi-trailer, when for unknown reasons, possible a medical emergency, the vehicle lost control before slamming into a jersey wall on I-84. The vehicle burst into flames on impact.

Grundie was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force and thermal injuries.

Officials at the scene said the intense fire made getting to Grundie difficult.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
