HICKORY, NC. (THECOUNT) — Jonathan Credle has been identified as the Hickory man killed in a late Monday afternoon shooting, according to the Hickory Police Department.

Credle, 30, was found suffering from at least one gunshot injury around 4:30 p.m. Monday after police responded to a call of shots fired near 806 1st Street Southeast in Hickory, NC.

When officials arrived, they discovered Credle laying in a pool of blood in a field behind the address, according to the release.

Credle was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.

Deputy Police Chief Reed Baer said Monday that investigators are still trying to identify a suspect, reports HickoryRecord.
