GLENDALE, AZ. (THECOUNT) — Edward Steven Sanchez, of Glendale, Arizona, has been identified as the victim in a crash involving a motorcycle and a Glendale police unit Saturday evening.
According to police, just before 10 p.m., “Eddie” Sanchez, 41, was operating a motorcycle traveling on Grand Avenue when he made contact with a Glendale police cruiser performing a left hand turn.

The unidentified officer was stopped at a traffic light northwest on Grand Avenue at Myrtle Avenue, when he turned on a green arrow and struck Sanchez, who was traveling in the opposite direction.
Sanchez was thrown from the bike during the collision and suffered multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
The Glendale officer, who was uninjured, administered care for the victim until EMS arrived.
The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Police say there are no indications that the officer was responding with lights or had sirens activated at the time of the incident. source
