A 49ers injury report ahead of Super Bowl 2013 has revealed the key injuries for San Francisco in today’s televised NFL championship game. The Niners will be taking on the Ravens in a battle for football’s Lombardi Trophy. However, several of the members of their roster were questionable with injuries heading into today’s big game.
Here’s the report released on SBNation:
All four of San Francisco’s starting linebackers are listed on the injury report with varying degrees of participation in practice.
LBs NaVorro Bowman and Patrick Willis participated fully all week with shoulder injuries. Aldon Smith (shoulder) and Ahmad Brooks (shoulder) were limited in every practice this week, but are expected to play Sunday against Baltimore.
Smith, arguably the best pass rusher playing in the game, is bolstered by the presence of defensive end Justin Smith, who is also expected to play despite an elbow/triceps injury.
Running backs Frank Gore (shoulder, ankle) and LaMichael James (finger) will play. Plowing their way, All-Pro left guard Mike Iupati (shoulder) is expected to play as well.
Cornerback Tarrell Brown (shoulder), LB Clark Haggans (shoulder), tight end Garrett Celek (foot) and fullback Bruce Miller (shoulder) are all on the injury report, but all are expected to play.
The 49ers are 3.5-point favorites against the Ravens. The game kicks off at 3:30 p.m. PT Sunday from New Orleans.
