AL Man Bobby Martin ID’d As Victim In Saturday Hamilton Fatal Harley Crash

BEXAR, AL. (THECOUNT) — Bobby Martin, 58, of Phil Campbell, Alabama, was killed Saturday evening in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash in Marion County, in northwest Alabama, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Martin was fatally injured when the Harley-Davidson motorcycle he was riding departed the roadway and struck a tree at approximately 5:46 p.m. on County Road 25 near Bexar Avenue in Hamilton.

Martin was ejected from the motorcycle during the crash and pronounced dead at the scene.

The circumstances that caused the Harley-Davidson to leave the roadway had not been released. ALEA’s investigation into the fatal crash remained ongoing.

Martin was a resident of Phil Campbell, a city in neighboring Franklin County approximately 20 miles northwest of the crash area. Bexar is an unincorporated community in western Marion County near the Alabama-Mississippi state line.

County Road 25 runs through the rural western portion of Marion County, where Bexar Avenue provides access through the community. The area is characterized by rural roads and agricultural land, with the crash occurring near the Bexar community.

Authorities had not released additional information concerning whether any other vehicles or people were involved in the crash.

Nothing further was immediately available as ALEA investigators continued working to determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal motorcycle collision.

Marion County is located in northwest Alabama along the Mississippi border, with Hamilton serving as the county seat. Phil Campbell is located in Franklin County immediately north of Marion County and is part of northwest Alabama’s Quad Cities region.
