COWLEY COUNTY, KS. (THECOUNT) — Shawn Colby Calhoun, 37, of Arkansas City, Kansas, has been identified as the man killed Sunday night in a motorcycle crash at U.S. 77 Highway and 332nd Road in Cowley County. The motorcycle was struck by a car driven by Stephanie Thielen, 34, of Newkirk, Oklahoma.
The crash occurred shortly before 9 p.m., according to Cowley County Undersheriff Christina McDonald.

Preliminary investigation indicates Thielen was driving a 2000 Dodge Stratus across U.S. 77 Highway at 332nd Road to proceed southbound when the car struck Calhoun’s 2004 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Calhoun, who had ties to Burbank, Oklahoma, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Cowley County Sheriff’s Office released no additional details concerning the fatal collision.
Cowley County is located in south-central Kansas along the Oklahoma border, with Arkansas City in the southern portion of the county. The area is part of the broader Wichita metropolitan region.
