RICHLAND, NY. (THECOUNT) — Terri Russell, 47, of Sandy Creek, has been identified as the driver of a passenger van involved in a Friday morning crash that killed two children and critically injured another after the vehicle struck two Amish buggies in Oswego County, New York.
The fatal collision occurred shortly after 9:15 a.m. at the intersection of County Route 41 and Manwaring Road in the Town of Richland, according to the New York State Police.

Preliminary information indicates that Russell was driving a 2017 Dodge passenger van southbound on County Route 41 when it allegedly struck two Amish buggies traveling south in the same direction. The buggies were carrying a combined total of nine people.
One of the buggies was occupied by four people, while the second buggy carried five people. The collision resulted in the deaths of two children and critical injuries to another child.
State police said a seven-year-old child and a 13-year-old child were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not been released in the available reporting.
A third child, nine years old, suffered critical injuries in the crash. The child was transported to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse for treatment. An updated medical condition was not immediately provided.
