Bon Jovi Abruptly Ends Madison Square Garden Concert ‘I’m Hurt’ [Video]

NEW YORK, NY. (THECOUNT) — Jon Bon Jovi, 64, of New Jersey, abruptly ended his Madison Square Garden concert Thursday night after battling a sinus infection, according to a spokesperson for Bon Jovi. The legendary rocker told fans he needed to “cool it for a night” before leaving the stage approximately 90 minutes into the performance.

Madison Square Garden is located in Midtown Manhattan and is one of the world’s most iconic concert venues. Bon Jovi’s New York City residency is part of the band’s Forever Tour, marking the group’s return to touring following Jon Bon Jovi’s vocal cord surgery in 2022.

Videos shared on social media captured the frontman addressing concertgoers before ending the show early.

“Don’t throw away your ticket stubs … I’m going to figure out how to reschedule,” Bon Jovi told the audience. “I’m gonna have to cool it for a night.”

A spokesperson for the band later confirmed that the early conclusion was due to a sinus infection.

“Jon Bon Jovi spoke from stage and told fans he has been battling a sinus infection which led to the show’s early ending,” the spokesperson said in a statement. “As part of the Bon Jovi residency at Madison Square Garden, Jon has said numerous times that it has been a joy to return to live shows for the band. Updated information will be available shortly.”

The Madison Square Garden performance was the eighth of nine scheduled shows during the band’s New York residency, which began July 7. The final scheduled Madison Square Garden performance remains set for Sunday unless additional changes are announced.

The band is currently scheduled to continue the Forever Tour with five performances in the United Kingdom in August and September.

The Forever Tour represents Bon Jovi’s first major touring effort since Jon Bon Jovi underwent vocal cord surgery in 2022. The singer previously detailed his medical condition in the 2024 four-part Hulu docuseries, “Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story.”

In the documentary, he revealed that one of his vocal cords had become atrophied, affecting his ability to perform.

“One of my vocal cords was literally atrophied,” he explained in the series. “Your vocal cords are supposed to look parallel, or let’s pretend that they are as thick as a thumb — one of mine was as thick as a thumb and the other one was as thick as a pinky. So, the strong one was pushing the weak one aside, and I wasn’t singing well.”

Fans attending Thursday night’s show are being advised to retain their ticket stubs as additional information regarding a possible rescheduled performance is expected to be announced by the band.
