LEXINGTON, KY. (THECOUNT) — Shawn Wilson, of Lexington, Kentucky, was identified as the victim in a fatal three-vehicle motorcycle crash that occurred Thursday morning in Lexington, located in central Kentucky’s Bluegrass region.

Wilson was 43.

According to the Lexington Police Department, officers responded at approximately 6:51 a.m. to the area of Versailles Road and Woodford Drive following reports of a serious collision involving three vehicles, including a motorcycle.

Investigators said Wilson was operating the motorcycle when the crash occurred. Emergency responders found at least one person with life-threatening injuries at the scene. Wilson was transported for medical evaluation but was pronounced dead at 7:20 a.m., according to Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn.

The coroner determined Wilson died from multiple blunt force traumatic injuries sustained in the collision.

Authorities temporarily closed all lanes of Versailles Road between Delmont Drive and Garrett Avenue while officers documented the scene and collision reconstruction investigators gathered evidence. The roadway reopened shortly before 9:30 a.m.

Police have not released details regarding what led to the crash or whether any of the other drivers involved suffered injuries. No charges had been filed as of Thursday morning.
