CLERMONT COUNTY, Ohio (THECOUNT) —Robert Dinka, 47, of Batavia, Ohio, was killed Thursday night after losing control of his motorcycle on U.S. 50 in Clermont County. A 41-year-old woman who was riding as a passenger was seriously injured in the crash.

Dinka was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, troopers responded to the crash around 10:06 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, on U.S. 50 in Clermont County.

Investigators said Dinka was riding a 2015 Harley-Davidson Street Glide eastbound on U.S. 50 when he lost control of the motorcycle. The bike left the roadway, struck a ditch, and overturned.

Dinka, who was from Batavia in Clermont County, was ejected during the crash and died at the scene. The 41-year-old female passenger was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

U.S. 50 is a major east-west highway that runs through southern Ohio, including Clermont County, which is located east of Cincinnati. The area where the crash occurred is a rural section of the roadway.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the cause of the crash. Troopers have not released information regarding speed, possible impairment, or other contributing factors at this time.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident. The crash remains under active investigation.
