MANHATTAN, NY. (THECOUNT) — — Ty Rodriguez, 26, of Manhattan, was killed early Thursday morning after crashing his motorcycle on Harlem River Drive in Upper Manhattan.
Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the NYPD, the crash occurred around 2:24 a.m. Thursday when Rodriguez was operating a 2023 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle southbound on Harlem River Drive. Police said he failed to navigate the roadway and struck the metal guardrail.

Rodriguez sustained severe trauma to the head as a result of the impact. Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and pronounced him dead shortly after arrival.
Harlem River Drive is a major limited-access highway that runs along the Harlem River in Manhattan. The section where the crash occurred is in the Washington Heights area and is known for its curves and elevated structure.
The NYPD said no other vehicles were involved in the crash. Investigators have not released information regarding speed, possible impairment, or other contributing factors at this time.
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains active.
