EXETER TOWNSHIP, PA. (THECOUNT) — Larry Pergola Jr., of Exeter Township, Pennsylvania, was killed early Saturday after the motorcycle he was operating collided with a minivan at an intersection in Berks County, located in southeastern Pennsylvania northwest of Philadelphia. The driver of the minivan survived the crash.

According to officials, the collision occurred at approximately 12:11 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of St. Lawrence Avenue and Shelbourne Road in Exeter Township.

Investigators said Larry Pergola Jr. was operating a motorcycle when it was involved in a crash with a minivan under circumstances that remain under investigation.

Pergola suffered critical injuries in the collision and was transported to Reading Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:56 a.m., according to the Berks County Coroner’s Office.

The driver of the minivan was not reported to have suffered life-threatening injuries. Authorities have not released the driver’s identity.

The Berks County Coroner’s Office is investigating the fatal crash alongside local law enforcement. Officials have not yet announced what may have led to the collision, and no information regarding possible contributing factors has been released.
