ALBANY, N.H. (THECOUNT) — Daniel Jennings, of Tamworth, New Hampshire, was killed and the driver of a southbound vehicle suffered minor injuries following a head-on motorcycle crash Saturday evening in Albany, a community in Carroll County near New Hampshire’s White Mountains, authorities said.

According to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal collision occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Route 16, just north of Piper Trail.

Investigators said Jennings was operating a motorcycle northbound on Route 16 when he was witnessed losing control. The motorcycle crossed the centerline into the southbound lane, where it collided head-on with an oncoming passenger vehicle.

Jennings suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the southbound vehicle sustained minor injuries and was treated before being released, according to authorities.

Route 16 remained closed for an extended period while deputies documented the scene, gathered evidence, and cleared the wreckage.

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. Investigators have not yet said what caused Jennings to lose control of the motorcycle, and no additional information has been released.

Emergency responders from the Conway Fire Department, New Hampshire State Police, Madison Police Department, and the New Hampshire Medical Examiner’s Office assisted at the scene.
