BEECHER, WI. (THECOUNT) — Gary Irving Yaggie, 74, of Dunbar, Wisconsin, has been identified as the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon in Beecher, a rural community in northeastern Wisconsin near the Michigan border.
According to the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at approximately 12:54 p.m. to County Highway Z near Fur Farm Drive in the Town of Beecher following reports of a single-vehicle motorcycle crash.
Investigators said Yaggie was operating a Harley-Davidson Trike eastbound on County Highway Z when the crash occurred.
Preliminary findings indicate Yaggie failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway.
Authorities said the motorcycle left the roadway, entered a ditch, and struck a tree.
Yaggie sustained fatal injuries in the collision.
He was pronounced dead as a result of injuries suffered in the crash.
Officials reported that Yaggie was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
Beecher is located in Marinette County in northeastern Wisconsin, approximately 100 miles north of Green Bay and just south of the Michigan Upper Peninsula. The area is known for its forests, recreational trails, and rural roadways that attract both local residents and visiting motorcyclists during the warmer months.
Dunbar, where Yaggie resided, is an unincorporated community in Marinette County situated near the Wisconsin-Michigan state line.
County Highway Z serves as a local transportation route through the region’s heavily wooded landscape and connects several small communities throughout northern Marinette County.
The Marinette County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Also assisting at the scene were the Marinette County Medical Examiner’s Office, Beecher-Dunbar-Pembine Fire Department, Pembine-Dunbar-Beecher Rescue, and Integrity Care EMS.
