MINONK, IL. (THECOUNT) — Lulije Cosentino, 49, has been identified as the victim of a fatal two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on Interstate 39 near Minonk, Illinois.
According to the Woodford County Coroner’s Office, emergency personnel were dispatched at approximately 9:49 a.m. to the southbound lanes of Interstate 39 near Mile Marker 22 following reports of a two-vehicle collision.

Authorities said Cosentino, of Dixon, was operating one of the vehicles involved in the crash.
Investigators said preliminary information indicates her vehicle was struck from behind.
Cosentino was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 11 a.m., according to the coroner’s office.
The crash occurred near Minonk, a community in Woodford County located in central Illinois between Bloomington-Normal and the Peoria metropolitan area. The region is connected by major transportation corridors that serve both local and interstate traffic.
Interstate 39 is a primary north-south highway running through central Illinois and carrying significant volumes of passenger and commercial vehicle traffic. The roadway connects communities throughout Illinois and serves as an important transportation route for travelers moving between the Midwest and points farther south.
Dixon, where Cosentino resided, is located in north-central Illinois along the Rock River in Lee County. The city is known as the childhood home of former President Ronald Reagan and serves as a regional center for surrounding communities.
Woodford County authorities remained at the scene following the collision as investigators documented evidence and worked to determine the circumstances leading up to the crash.
Officials have not released additional details regarding the second vehicle involved or whether other injuries were reported.
The Woodford County Coroner’s Office said an autopsy will be conducted as part of the investigation.
Toxicology testing has also been ordered, according to authorities.
The Woodford County Sheriff’s Department and the Woodford County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate the fatal collision.
