PA Man Bryan Scheidemantle ID’d As Victim In Wednesday Neshannock Fatal Motorcycle Crash

NESHANNOCK TOWNSHIP, PA. (THECOUNT) — Bryan Scheidemantle, 60, New Castle, Pennsylvania, has been identified as the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash Wednesday afternoon in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania.

According to the Neshannock Township Police Department, the two-vehicle collision occurred just before 4 p.m. along Wilmington Road near Mama Jane’s Eatery.

Authorities said Scheidemantle was operating a motorcycle when it was involved in a crash with another vehicle.

Police reported that Scheidemantle suffered serious injuries in the collision.

Emergency responders transported him by ambulance to a nearby landing zone where a medical helicopter had been requested.

However, due to the severity of his injuries, Scheidemantle was unable to be airlifted and was instead transported by ambulance to UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle.

He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The driver and passenger of the other vehicle involved in the crash were not injured, according to police.

The collision occurred in Neshannock Township, a community located immediately north of New Castle in Lawrence County. The township is part of western Pennsylvania near the Ohio border and is connected to the region by a network of state and local roadways.

Wilmington Road serves as a major commercial and transportation corridor through Neshannock Township, carrying local traffic between residential neighborhoods, businesses, and nearby communities throughout Lawrence County.

New Castle, where Scheidemantle was transported for treatment, is the county seat of Lawrence County and serves as the region’s principal population center. UPMC Jameson Hospital provides medical services to residents throughout Lawrence County and neighboring areas.

Mama Jane’s Eatery, referenced by authorities as a landmark near the crash scene, is located along Wilmington Road in a busy commercial section of the township.

The Pennsylvania State Police responded to assist local authorities with the investigation.

Officials have not released additional information regarding the circumstances that led to the collision.

Authorities have also not announced whether any charges are being considered as the investigation continues.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Neshannock Township Police Department with assistance from the Pennsylvania State Police.

Additional information may be released as investigators complete their review of the fatal collision.
