DJ Erick “DJ Avenger” Del Campo ID’d As Victim In Monday TX Fatal Crash

DALLAS, TX. (THECOUNT) — Erick “DJ Avenger” Del Campo has been identified as the victim of a fatal traffic crash that occurred early Monday morning in North Texas. He was 44.

The fatal collision occurred only hours after Del Campo fulfilled what family members described as a lifelong goal by performing at a Major League Baseball game.

Earlier that day, Del Campo had provided entertainment during the game between the Texas Rangers and the Cleveland Guardians at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

According to reports, Del Campo was traveling home in his vehicle when it collided with another vehicle at approximately 2:30 a.m. on June 8.

Emergency responders transported Del Campo and the other driver involved in the collision to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas for treatment.

Despite medical efforts, Del Campo later died from injuries sustained in the crash.

The condition of the other driver was not immediately released, although reports indicated the individual suffered unspecified injuries.

According to his brother, Mike Del Campo, performing at an MLB game had been a longtime dream for the popular North Texas DJ.

Known professionally as “DJ Avenger,” Del Campo built a substantial following throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth region during a career that spanned more than a decade.

In addition to nightclub and event appearances, he performed at numerous high-profile venues throughout North Texas, including American Airlines Center and Texas Live!, according to publicly available information.

His social media accounts also reflected a lengthy association with Ojos Locos Sports Cantina, where he indicated he had worked as a DJ for approximately 14 years.

The Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area is one of the largest entertainment and sports markets in the United States, hosting major professional sports franchises, concert venues, and live entertainment destinations that regularly feature local and regional performers.

Globe Life Field, home of the Texas Rangers, is located in Arlington between Dallas and Fort Worth and serves as one of the region’s premier sports and entertainment venues. The stadium hosts Major League Baseball games, concerts, and special events throughout the year.

Authorities have not released additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding the crash, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Further information is expected to be released as investigators continue reviewing the collision.
