SHELBY COUNTY, IA. (THECOUNT) — Francis “Frank” Rueschenberg, 63, of Westphalia, Iowa, was killed Sunday afternoon following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. Highway 59 and County Road F32 in Shelby County, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
The collision occurred shortly after 2:50 p.m. near Harlan in western Iowa.

Investigators said a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox operated by Miranda Von Ahsen, 38, of Westphalia, was traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 59 and preparing to turn west onto County Road F32 when it collided with a southbound 1975 Norton motorcycle ridden by Rueschenberg.
The impact occurred within the intersection, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
Rueschenberg suffered serious injuries in the crash and was transported by Harlan EMS to Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan.
Authorities said he later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
No other injuries were reported.
The Iowa State Patrol is leading the investigation into the collision.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office also responded and assisted at the scene.
Westphalia is a small community located in Shelby County approximately 60 miles northeast of Omaha, Nebraska, while Harlan serves as the county seat.
