NH Man Terrence McSally ID’d As Victim In Monday Ashland I-93 Fatal Crash

ASHLAND, N.H. (THECOUNT) — Terrence McSally, 64, of Ashland, New Hampshire, died Monday morning following a crash involving an SUV and a box truck on Interstate 93 in Ashland, according to New Hampshire State Police.

Authorities said the collision occurred around 7 a.m. Monday on I-93 North near mile marker 77.2.

Troopers responding to the scene found a black 2011 Chevrolet Traverse in the median and a box truck stopped in the highway breakdown lane.

According to investigators, McSally was operating the Chevrolet northbound in the left lane when the SUV drifted onto the rumble strips.

Police said McSally then overcorrected to the right and collided with a box truck traveling in the right lane.

Following the impact, the Chevrolet lost control, traveled off the roadway into the median, and struck a rock.

Several passing motorists stopped to assist following the crash, including an off-duty Concord firefighter who began CPR efforts at the scene.

McSally, who was the sole occupant of the Chevrolet, was transported to Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth, where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the box truck, identified as Matthew Petz, 35, of Plymouth, was not injured in the collision.

State police said the left northbound lane of I-93 remained closed for approximately two hours while emergency crews investigated the scene and removed the damaged vehicles.

Interstate 93 serves as a primary north-south highway through central New Hampshire and experiences significant commuter and tourism traffic throughout the region.

Authorities have not yet determined what caused the Chevrolet to leave its lane prior to the collision.

The New Hampshire State Police investigation remains ongoing.
