AL Woman Arianna Grant ID’d As Victim In Friday Montgomery Murder-Suicide

MONTGOMERY, AL. (THECOUNT) — Arianna Grant, 29, of Montgomery, Alabama, was killed Friday night in what Montgomery Police are investigating as a domestic-related murder-suicide on Simmons Drive.

The deadly shooting occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. Friday, May 15, in the 2900 block of Simmons Drive in Montgomery, the state capital located in central Alabama.

According to the Montgomery Police Department, officers responded to reports of a double-shooting at the residence late Friday night.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Arianna Grant suffering from fatal gunshot injuries.

Authorities said Grant was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police also located an adult male suffering from what investigators described as a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The man, whose identity has not yet been publicly released, was transported to an area hospital in life-threatening condition for emergency treatment.

Montgomery Police later confirmed the man died from his injuries at the hospital.

Investigators said preliminary findings indicate the deadly incident was domestic-related.

Authorities have not publicly released additional details regarding the circumstances leading up to the shooting.

The incident prompted a late-night response from Montgomery Police officers, detectives, crime scene investigators, firefighters, and EMS personnel.

Law enforcement officials secured the area while investigators collected evidence and interviewed potential witnesses.

Police have not announced whether any prior domestic-related calls or incidents were associated with the residence.

Authorities also have not released information regarding the relationship between Grant and the deceased male.

The Montgomery Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deadly shooting.
