PA Man Guillermo Pazo Dies Sunday Following Allentown Motorcycle Crash

ALLENTOWN, PA. (THECOUNT) — An Allentown, Pennsylvania man is dead after a motorcycle collision in the city’s West End Theatre District neighborhood, the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office has confirmed. Guillermo Pazo was riding a motorcycle that was struck by another vehicle at the intersection of West Allen Street and North Saint Cloud Street, authorities said. The crash sent Pazo to a local hospital.

According to a news release from the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office, the crash occurred on Friday, March 21, shortly before 8 p.m. Pazo was pronounced dead Sunday, April 6, at 12:45 p.m. — more than two weeks after the collision. The coroner ruled the cause of death as multiple blunt force injuries and the manner of death as an accident. Pazo was 30 years old.

The intersection of West Allen Street and North Saint Cloud Street sits in the West End Theatre District, a walkable residential and commercial corridor on the western side of Allentown just west of the city’s downtown core. The neighborhood is home to St. Luke’s Allentown campus and William Allen High School and borders West Park and Cedar Creek Park.

Allentown is the county seat of Lehigh County and the third-largest city in Pennsylvania, with a population of approximately 125,000 residents. The city anchors the Lehigh Valley, an industrially rooted metropolitan region in eastern Pennsylvania situated between two Appalachian ridges — Blue Mountain to the north and South Mountain to the south — roughly 60 miles north of Philadelphia and about 90 miles west of New York City. The Lehigh Valley encompasses both Lehigh and Northampton counties and is home to nearly 700,000 people.

The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office and the Allentown Police Department are jointly investigating the crash. No additional information on the other vehicle involved or its operator has been released by authorities at this time.

The identity and condition of the other vehicle’s driver have not been publicly disclosed by investigators. It is not known whether any other occupants sustained injuries in the collision.

West Allen Street runs east-west through the central-west portion of Allentown, connecting the heart of the city to its western residential neighborhoods. North Saint Cloud Street is a north-south residential side street in the same corridor. The intersection sits within a densely developed urban area with a mix of apartment buildings, single-family homes, and neighborhood businesses.

The Allentown Police Department has not released information indicating whether charges are pending or anticipated in connection with the fatal collision. The investigation remains active and ongoing.

Anyone with information regarding this crash is encouraged to contact the Allentown Police Department.

Allentown has experienced a notable number of traffic fatalities in recent years, a concern that city officials and law enforcement have worked to address through increased traffic enforcement and infrastructure improvements. West Allen Street, as one of the city’s primary east-west corridors in the mid-city zone, sees substantial daily traffic volume, including commercial vehicles, commuters, and neighborhood residents. Motorcycle crashes in urban intersections often involve vehicles that fail to yield or account for smaller, faster-moving two-wheelers, though investigators have not stated what caused the March 21 collision.

Lehigh County, where Allentown is located, has a population of approximately 380,000 and encompasses a mix of urban, suburban, and rural communities. The county borders Northampton County to the east, Berks County to the south, and Carbon County to the north. The Lehigh Valley’s two largest cities — Allentown and Bethlehem — together account for the bulk of the region’s population and traffic activity.

The approximate location of the fatal crash at West Allen Street and North Saint Cloud Street in Allentown can be found on Google Maps.
