Bank Of America Employee Ina Lang Victim In Friday Charlotte Fatal Shooting

CHARLOTTE, NC (THECOUNT) — Ina Michelle Lang, 50, the woman fatally shot near a northwest Charlotte Bank of America on Friday morning, worked as a Senior Banker at the bank, according to a friend’s post on social media. Mike Lang, the victim’s husband, also confirmed the death.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) officers responded shortly after 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, to reports of a shooting in the parking lot along Callabridge Court near Brookshire Boulevard. Police found a female victim suffering from a gunshot wound and she was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel.

Lang had worked for Bank of America since 2009 and was serving as a Senior Banker at the time of her death. A former coworker from Universal Orlando Resort Starbucks also confirmed Lang’s death in a social media post. This reporting has been independently corroborated by the user providing the information; CMPD has not yet released additional personal details.

The incident occurred near the Bank of America branch located 9715 Callabridge Court in northwest Charlotte. Police are treating the shooting as a homicide and have said the investigation remains active.

CMPD spokespersons confirmed that a SWAT situation later in the evening on Red Robin Street in west Charlotte was connected to this homicide and that a suspect was taken into custody during that operation. Details about the suspect’s identity and any charges have not been released by police at this time.

Officers, detectives, and crime scene investigators continued working the area throughout Friday afternoon and evening, canvassing for witnesses and collecting evidence. Police have described this as an isolated incident and have not indicated that there is a broader public safety threat tied to the shooting.

Lang’s longtime employment at Bank of America and her role as a Senior Banker reflect more than 15 years with the financial institution prior to her death. Lang’s friend and former coworker publicly confirmed her passing, stating that Lang was well-liked by colleagues and had been part of the Universal Orlando Resort Starbucks team earlier in her career.

CMPD urges anyone with information about the shooting to contact **Charlotte Crime Stoppers** at **704-334-1600** or call **704-432-TIPS** to speak directly with homicide detectives. Anonymous tips may be eligible for a reward.

Authorities have not yet released any additional details regarding the circumstances leading up to the shooting or a possible motive. Police continue to investigate and have not announced any suspect charges or court actions as of Saturday evening.
