Parents ID Elizabeth Angle As Teen Killed In Sunday TX Tragic Sledding Accident

FRISCO, TX. (THECOUNT) — Elizabeth Angle, a 16-year-old Wakeland High School student, has been identified as the teenager who died following a sledding accident involving a Jeep in Frisco, Texas, on Sunday afternoon, according to police and family members.

The fatal incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. in the area of Majestic Gardens Drive and Killian Court. The Frisco Police Department said officers responded to reports of a serious accident and found two 16-year-old girls suffering from life-threatening injuries. Officers immediately began life-saving measures at the scene before both teens were transported for medical treatment.

Investigators said a 16-year-old boy was driving a Jeep Wrangler and pulling the two girls on a sled. Witnesses told police that the sled struck a curb and then hit a tree, causing severe injuries to both riders. Elizabeth Angle later died from her injuries. The second teenage girl survived but was seriously hurt.

Angle’s family confirmed her death and identified her as the victim. She was the middle child in her family, with two sisters ages 18 and 12. Family members described her as kind, outgoing, and well-loved by those who knew her, according to CBS News.

Angle was a sophomore at Wakeland High School in Frisco, where she was also a member of the school’s soccer program. In a letter sent to parents, school officials said she was well-liked by both her peers and teachers. The school also released a statement acknowledging the impact of the tragedy on the campus community.

“Our entire campus community is impacted by this tragedy,” the school said in its statement.

Police confirmed that no arrests have been made at this time. The crash remains under active investigation as authorities work to determine the circumstances leading up to the incident. Anyone with information related to the crash is asked to contact the Frisco Police Department at 972-292-6010.
