CO Couple Derik & Shandi Hurst, Baby, ID’d As Victims In Sunday UT Triple-Fatal Vehicle Crash

GRAND COUNTY, UT (THECOUNT) — In a devastating accident on Sunday, three individuals, including a one-month-old baby girl, lost their lives in a head-on collision on SR-191 near mile marker 151 in Grand County, Utah.

The tragic incident occurred just after 12:15 p.m. when a Chevrolet Suburban, traveling southbound, veered into oncoming traffic at high speeds and collided with a motorhome pulling a GMC Canyon.

Victims Identified:

The victims from the Chevrolet Suburban have been identified as Derik Hurst, 31, Shandi R. Hurst, 28, and their one-month-old baby girl, all residents of Mancos, Colorado. The collision was fatal for all three family members, leaving the community in deep mourning.

Details of the Accident:

According to Grand County officials, the Chevrolet Suburban was moving southbound when it suddenly crossed into the northbound lane, leading to a head-on crash with the motorhome. The high-speed impact resulted in immediate fatalities for the Hursts and their infant daughter.
