GA Mother Jessica Rogue GoFundMe Suffered Severe Brown Recluse Spider Bites [GRAPHIC VIDEO]

ATLANTA, GA. (THECOUNT) — Jessica Rogue, a 44-year-old mother from Oconee County, is recovering after being bitten multiple times by venomous brown recluse spiders while cleaning out a shed at her Bogart home.

Rogue was sweeping out the shed on July 1 when she felt a bite near her eye and realized she had encountered several brown recluse spiders. The spiders bit her in multiple places, including her face.

“There were spiders on me, where I was it was a really messy web, and I was trying to clean that up,” Rogue recalled.

Within 24 hours, Rogue’s condition worsened, and she was rushed to the hospital as her face, arms, and throat swelled dramatically. “This is escalating, this is getting worse. I really didn’t know for sure. I’ve been bitten by spiders so many times. I had no idea what it was, there’s no way it could have done that to me,” she said. “Yeah, a brown recluse can do these things to do.”

Brown recluse spiders are one of three venomous spiders in the U.S., identifiable by the dark brown, violin-shaped marking on their back. A bite from a brown recluse spider can be deadly, with symptoms including redness, swelling, blisters, burning sensations, and body-wide rashes.

Though Rogue’s upper lip swelling is due to a non-cancerous tumor from a previous car accident, the scars, rashes, and patch over her eye are the result of the venomous bites. “My eye is what I’m really worried about. My eye is… I’m having a lot of pain. I just don’t know what’s going to happen with my eye,” she expressed.

A GoFundMe page has been created to assist Rogue with her medical expenses.

Via GoFundMe:

“JUGGS GOT BIT!! Jessica was minding her own business tending to her yard and a couple jerk brown recluse got her. IN THE FACE! She’s still at the hospital so they can monitor any developments or lack there of. She has numbness and loss of mobility in her hand and foot ( still unsure if it’s temporary or permanent yet) and her skin is on fire. She’s unable to work has three beautiful daughters and still at the hospital. Please help so she has some relief from this terrible event. All I think needed to be said in the long run was brown recluse bite in the face.”

Despite the ordeal, Rogue feels fortunate. “Some people don’t end up being as lucky as I am,” she said.
