Iviyan Dandridge ID’d As VA Teen Girl Shot Dead In Martinsville Sunday

MARTINSVILLE, VA. (THECOUNT) — The Martinsville Police Department has reported a tragic incident involving the death of a 19-year-old female following a shooting early Sunday morning on July 7th at Rivermont Heights.

Officers responded to the 1400 block of Rivermont Heights at 2:36 a.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered two individuals with gunshot wounds. The victims were immediately transported to Martinsville SOVAH Hospital, where one of them, identified as 19-year-old Iviyan Dandridge from Martinsville, Virginia, was pronounced dead. The second victim received medical treatment and has since been released.

According to the police, the shooting occurred during a large gathering at a residence in Rivermont Heights when a fight broke out, leading to the tragic event. Investigators from the Martinsville Police Department and the Henry County Sheriff’s Office are currently processing the scene and interviewing witnesses to gather more information.

The victim was a recent graduate of Magna Vista High School.
