BENNINGTON COUNTY, CT. (THECOUNT) — Veteran actor Treat Williams died Monday following a motorcycle crash in Vermont. He was 71.
Williams, perhaps best known for his roles in TV series “Everwood” and the movie “Hair,” died in a two-vehicle motorcycle crash in Dorset on Monday.
According to Vermont State Police, a Honda SUV was performing a left hand turn into a parking lot in the town of Dorset around 5 p.m. Monday, when it came into contact with Williams’ motorcycle.
Williams was unable to avoid a collision with the SUV and was thrown from his motorcycle, according to police. He suffered critical injuries and was airlifted to Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY where he was pronounced dead, according to patch.
The SUV’s driver was checked at the scene for minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital.
“The investigation into this crash is in its early stages,” state police said in the statement.
