HAMILTON COUNTY, OH. (THECOUNT) — Officials have identified Dayshawn Blair as the deceased shooter in a Thursday apparent murder-suicide in Hamilton County.
Blair, 22, a former Oak Hills High School JV Boys Basketball player, allegedly shot a 19-year-old female before turning the gun on himself late Thursday evening in Cincinnati.
According to reports, police responded to a call of shots fired on the 4200 block of Chambers Street around 4:40 p.m. Thursday. When they arrived, two people were found suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
A female was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.
Blair was pronounced dead of gunshot injuries at the scene.
Police believe Blair shot the unidentified female before turning the gun on himself.
An investigation conducted by the Cincinnati Police Department’s Homicide Unit is ongoing.
